Abstract
Cet essai aborde des questions théoriques liées à la définition de la jeunesse dans une perspective d'ensemble de l'organisation des âges et de la dynamique des générations. Il propose une approche multidimensionnelle de la jeunesse qui conduit à un repérage de l'espace temporel des jeunes, clans ses différents axes : - l'étape de vie oriente vers un parcours largement inconnu, ouvert sur l'avenir ; - les rapports aux autres générations assurent un ancrage dans une filiation au passé ; - l'identification collective à une génération, à travers différentes formes de regroupements, médiatise l'appropriation du temps social et accomplit la création du présent. Il débouche une interrogation relative à la complexité des liens entre ces trois dimensions.
