Abstract
Le lancement du programme Virtuose en 1997 marque le debut d’un virage technologique important a HEC Montreal. Huit ans plus tard, plus de 6000 etudiants de premier et de deuxieme cycle, a temps plein et a temps partiel, evoluent dans un environnement d’etudes faisant appel a l’ordinateur portatif. Compte tenu de l’importance des nouvelles technologies de l’information et des communications (TIC) dans la mise en place de la nouvelle economie du savoir, le programme Virtuose constitue un laboratoire d’experimentation unique, une source precieuse d’enseignement pour tous les etablissements interesses par ces questions. Concu au depart comme un projet essentiellement pedagogique, le programme Virtuose a rapidement deborde vers des considerations technologiques (infrastructures reseau, soutien aux utilisateurs), administratives (dossier etudiant), commerciales (choix et vente de l’ordinateur) qui ont mobilise une bonne partie de l’appareil administratif et pedagogique de l’Ecole.
