Abstract
Le film politique n’est pas un genre authentifiable immédiatement : distinguer entre cinéma civique et pédagogique, cinéma militant et cinéma de propagande permet d’y voir plus clair. Mais au-delà, la vocation réaliste au sens large du cinéma politique impose une conceptualisation plus aboutie. Sa politicité intrinsèque tient à ce qu’il est totalisation, c'est-à-dire production dialectique d’un signifiant universel, à l’occasion d’un singulier représenté, faisant résonner la tension « du » réel, qui ne se réduit pas à une collection de faits, en le hantant de ses ambiguïtés et de ses possibles, donc en le défatalisant. Ce qui affirme sa vocation libératrice.
