Abstract
Cet article veut contribuer à définir un individualisme positif, en réaction à une partie de la sociologie classique ayant la vision nostalgique d'un monde social régulé par un lien communautaire. Le fait que le modèle actuel de l'identité privilégie la dimension personnelle par rapport à la dimension statutaire contraint à une redéfinition des liens sociaux. Ces derniers n'unissent pas des individus réduits à des places, à des positions occupées dans l'espace des générations ou de la hiérarchie sociale. Ils associent des hommes et des femmes, engagés aussi à titre personnel. Il n'y a pas suppression de l'identité statutaire, il y a invention d'un dosage entre ces deux niveaux de l'identité, de telle sorte que l'individu puisse être reconnu dans sa complexité et qu'il puisse reconnaître aussi les autres.
