Abstract
Le premier ouvrage de Saba Mahmood, Politics of Piety..., dont la traduction française est parue aux éditions La Découverte en septembre 2009, se veut un effort de décentrement. En s’intéressant à l’implication des femmes à l’intérieur du mouvement islamique, Saba Mahmood amorce une vaste réflexion sur les concepts qui balisent notre compréhension de l’islam, de l’éthique et du politique. L’objectif? Ébrécher le cadre normatif à travers lequel l’action féministe, la résistance et la liberté sont actuellement envisagées ; et donner un sens réellement anthropologique à la notion d’agencéité (agency).
