The survey has been done with The Social workers in Primary Assistance Health in Juiz de Fora/MG and discusses de challenges to strength the democratic character of public health care services. portuguesO presente artigo aborda as especificidades da pratica profissional do assistente social na saude a partir do debate sobre os instrumentos e tecnicas. A pesquisa a ser apresentada foi realizada com assistentes sociais inseridos na atencao primaria a saude em Juiz de Fora/MG e problematiza os desafios para se fortalecer o carater democratico dos servicos publicos de saude.
