Abstract
ABSTRACT. The demand for flexible distance learning adapted to the often highly specific needs of an increasingly demanding clientele represents a major organizational and teaching challenge for our universities. For the past three years, we have been testing teaching scenarios and technical solutions for providing real-time distance learning over the Internet including video streaming. In general, the users found the platform to be very stable and user-friendly. With few exceptions, they were all satisfied with their experience, from the organisational, technical and teaching viewpoints. We conclude that despite certain difficulties mainly related to the stability and reliability of the Internet, Web-based real-time remote training can now be considered a technologically stable solution and a promising future avenue for teaching.
