Abstract
Cet article se propose d’analyser la lutte menée par un réseau transnational d’activistes pour la reconnaissance et le respect des droits des homosexuels masculins en Asie centrale postsoviétique. Après avoir souligné l’action de ce réseau, nous nous attacherons à montrer ce à quoi ses membres se trouvent confrontés, soit le poids des réalités locales dans lesquelles se débattent leurs partenaires centrasiatiques, lesgoluboiou « bleu », comme se nomment eux-mêmes les homosexuels masculins d’Asie centrale. Cette analyse chronologique, remontant au début du siècle, permettra non seulement de comprendre les décalages entre les attentes des militants européens et nord-américains et les partenaires locaux du réseau, mais aussi de montrer la force d’un tel réseau transnational dans une région caractérisée par un fort contrôle de l’État sur la vie politique. Nous nous appuierons sur les données disponibles, mais surtout sur les recherches de terrain que nous menons dans la région depuis 1995. Car si les études sur la sexualité en Asie centrale post-soviétique sont peu nombreuses, celles portant sur l’homosexualité masculine sont quasiment inexistantes dans la littérature scientifique internationale.
