Abstract
Faisant allusion au questionnement fécond qui a eu lieu entre les deux guerres à propos des conséquences, pour la composition musicale, de l’invention de la radiophonie, l’auteur présente le numéro en se demandant si le rapport entre la musique d’avant-garde de la deuxième moitié du XXe siècle et les technologies de captation, de stockage et de diffusion du son a suffisamment été examiné. Malgré d’importantes contributions dans ce sens chez un Pousseur ou un Gould, l’avant-garde de l’après-guerre semble toutefois assigner au disque la vocation de simple document archivistique et non pas celle de moyen radicalement nouveau d’accéder à la musique. L’auteur résume comment chacune des contributions à ce numéro cerne de différentes manières les façons dont les nouvelles technologies ont le potentiel d’ouvrir de nouvelles voies à la production et à l’écoute de la musique.
