Abstract
On a beaucoup insisté sur les pièges liés au fonctionnement des services dans nos sociétés; une survalorisation indiscriminée des systèmes de support naturel peut cependant présenter des pièges similaires. Des données ont été recueillies auprès d'un échantillon stratifié de personnes âgées, pour voir la place qu'elles-mêmes accordent aux ressources formelles et informelles dans leurs stratégies d'affrontement des problèmes. Une analyse des facteurs associés au fait de privilégier une catégorie particulière de ressources a permis de mettre en relief les dynamiques diverses qui peuvent sous-tendre le choix d'une stratégie particulière, et de poser des hypothèses concernant la manière dont opère l'influence du milieu.
