Abstract
Le thème « femmes et développement » n’a rejoint le Québec que quelques décennies après son apparition dans le Sud économique et il s’est limité au développement régional. Par ailleurs, la décentralisation transforme actuellement le palier régional en interlocuteur incontournable pour les groupes de femmes et privilégie la cooptation plutôt que la représentation électorale. Intégrant des objectifs liés à l’atteinte de l’égalité, les autorités régionales orientent fortement les interventions de ces groupes en matière de droits des femmes sur la scène régionale. On assiste dès lors à une mutation des formes traditionnelles d’intervention des groupes de femmes.
