O presente artigo pretende indicar uma relação possível entre o deus derradeiro (der Letzte Gott) e o olhar oriundo da deusa grega Atena, que é memorada por Heidegger para pensar a proveniência da arte e a determinação do pensamento. Atena preside o saber fazer próprio das artes porque, em seu olhar, contempla o declínio que dá vez à alvorada, isto é, seu olhar é travessia que acolhe o acontecimento silencioso do mundo. Travessia do olhar e passagem do deus derradeiro constituem o mesmo destino de pensamento: a tarefa que se abre para os vindouros, pensadores e poetas que, no ocaso do mundo, aguardam os relampejos da origem.
