Abstract
Surface plasmons are collective oscillations of charges at the surface of metals. They find applications in nanoscale guiding and localization of light, enhancement of light-matter interaction, plasmonic lasers and sub-wavelength plasmonic sensors and components. Some of these devices break time reversal symmetry, and hence provide nonreciprocal capabilities in applications such as isolators, circulators, and nonreciprocal phase shifters and polarizers. We present here a plasmonic isolator based on nonreciprocal interaction between graphene surface plasmons and a magnetically biased ferrite substrate.
