Le rapport fait suite à l'appel d'offres rendu public sur le site de l'Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) pour le suivi, durant trois années consécutives, des apprenantes et apprenants inscrits à l'une des formations ouvertes et à distance (FOAD) soutenues par l'Agence. C'est dans ce contexte que quatre universités d'Europe et d'Amérique(Université de Mons-Hainaut, Université de Genève, Université de Strasbourg et Université de Montréal) ont été mandatées par l'AUF pour la réalisation de cette étude auprès des apprenantes et apprenants ayant participé aux FOAD soutenues par l'AUF en 2006-2007. Ce rapport préliminaire fait la synthèse de l'état d'avancement de l'enquête. Il présente l'équipe de recherche (section 2), les objectifs de l'enquête (section 3), la méthodologie (section 4) et les résultats au terme de la première année de recherche (section 5).
