Abstract
'Faith based Arbitration in Ontario' by Nicholas Pengelley is an extremely interesting discussion on the nature of arbitration and the sovereignty of the State concerning this issue - particularly in light of faith-based alternative dispute resolution processes. The discussion takes place in the context of a recent review of the Ontario Arbitration Act of 1991, with reference being made to Sharia (Islamic law), halacha (Jewish law), the ecclesiastical tribunals of the Catholic Church and the consistory courts of the Church of England and international case law relating to these.
