Les intranets constituent des infrastructures de communication et de diffusion de documents sans égales. Il en existe diverses variétés : certains reflètent les exigences de toute une organisation, d’autres sont bien ciblés aux besoins d’une unité administrative particulière ou d’un groupe de travail. Cet article présente l’implantation d’un intranet documentaire réalisé par l’auteur dans deux laboratoires accrédités ISO 9000 et il permet d’illustrer qu’un réseau Web privé n’est pas toujours le résultat d’un projet de grande envergure nécessitant des ressources humaines, financières et technologiques importantes. En conclusion, l’impact du déploiement des centres d’information virtuels sur nos pratiques sera discuté.
