Measurement of beat length in Hi-Bi fiber using Faraday magneto-optic effect
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The polarization maintaining capability of the birefringent fiber can be described in terms of its modal birefringence or beat length. The minimum length of fiber over which the state of polarization (SOP) comes back to its original value is called the beat length and the beat length of the PM fiber can be measured by altering the SOP of the light in the fiber by external means. One technique is to apply a strong magnetic field to the fiber to alter the SOP of the light. This technique is based on Faraday magneto-optic effect, discovered in 1845 by Michael Faraday. This technique is non-destructive. Simple and efficient and beat lengths of 2 mm and less have been measured which fulfil the requirements for currently available PM fibers. The experimental results are very comprehensive and promising and it has been proven that this technique has significant advantages over other techniques in terms of simplicity, versatility, productivity and practicality.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
