Abstract
Résumé Si la culture du temps chez les jeunes s’inscrit dans la jouissance de l’instant, préfigurée notamment par leurs usages des nouvelles technologies, elle suppose aussi une quête d’identité qui ne peut se faire que par un détachement plus ou moins harmonieux vis-à-vis du milieu familial. Elle s’affirme également par rapport à l’école, puisque celle-ci implique une sorte de report de réalisation de soi, accepté et inséré dans un projet de vie. De petits boulots peuvent donner l’occasion d’intégrer un horizon temporel qui se superpose à celui que l’école permet de construire. Sur les fondements d’une identité plus ou moins assurée, fortement tributaire de l’expérience de vie du jeune, se dégage progressivement une représentation du monde extérieur que l’on peut associer à l’élaboration d’une certaine vision de la « société », menant à diverses formes d’engagement social.
