Abstract
El autor nos presenta a Zsolt Janos, un joven roma que ha acabado los estudios secundarios y que se ha graduado en la Escuela Hungara de Secundaria �Gandhi�, una institucion creada para formar una elite gitana. A traves de la situacion particular de este joven, con nombre falso, el lector puede entrar en la situacion de los gitanos en Hungria. En este pais del Este europeo, solo un 0,3% de los gitanos obtiene el certificado de educacion secundaria y solo un 25% acaba los estudios primarios. La Comision Europea pide a varios estados del Este de Europa que persigan la discriminacion, aunque el hecho de su existencia, acompanada de un racismo abiertamente mostrado por la mayoria de la poblacion, no impide la entrada a la Union Europea de estos estados. Muchos gitanos tratan de solucionar ellos mismos sus problemas. Otros emigran hacia paises del Oeste europeo, Estados Unidos o Canada. Pero el Consejo Nacional Gitano de Hungria no aprueba la salida del pais de la gran minoria etnica. Este organismo confia en resolver la �cuestion gitana� a traves de una legislacion que ayude a la reforma social ademas de otros proyectos que dibuja el autor en su articulo.
