Le droit d'association constitue l'un des droits fondamentaux des fideles dans l'Eglise. Dans le present article, l'A. presente la dynamique propre a l'Eglise et au monde du debut du troisieme millenaire et ses incidences sur l'exercice du droit d'association. Les facteurs pertinents qui permettent de comprendre la facon dont s'exprime ce droit sont: la notion de communia, la nouvelle evangelisation, la diversite du monde et des cultures humaines, ainsi que diverses caracteristiques propres aux hommes et aux femmes d'aujourd'hui, la place de la religion dans les societes modernes et l'evolution du concept de Dieu. Apres avoir analyse ces facteurs et l'influence qu'ils exercent sur l'expression de la religiosite de notre epoque, l'A. suggere que le concept canonique d'association religieuse pourrait permettre d'elaborer une formule de rechange au modele de la paroisse, etant donne qu'il permet d'amenager un lieu regulier, voire exclusif, d'expression religieuse, et ce surtout dans la perspective du desenchantement face a la paroisse qu'eprouvent les fideles de certaines generations. L'Auteur termine en formulant quelques considerations elementaires sur la facon dont il faut s'y prendre pour mettre sur pied des associations de ce genre.
