Abstract
La démarche poétique de Pierre Guyotat implique une tension toujours maintenue entre la volonté de liquider des héritages familiaux, culturels et artistiques honnis, et le désir de se les réapproprier. Or, entre les rejets, les incorporations et les anticipations, c’est la possibilité d’une utopie de verbe et d’identité qui émerge, posant la question cruciale du destin de la littérature et de la langue française. En ce sens, le rapport ambivalent de l’écrivain aux traditions et aux canons de la littérature et des arts occidentaux témoigne essentiellement des paradoxes d’une œuvre visant l’impossible (re)conquête d’une « éloquence » (Explications, 2000) originaire de la langue française. Abstract Pierre Guyotat’s poetics implies an inexhaustible tension between the will to do away with the family, cultural and artistic inheritances that are reviled, and the desire that they may be recaptured. Yet as rejection, incorporation and anticipation interweave, emerges the possibility of an utopia of verb and identity that raises the question of the future of French literature and language. In this view, the writer’s ambivalent relation with traditions and canons of Western literature and arts exemplify the very paradoxes of his oeuvre, which aims at the impossible (re)conquest of a primal “eloquence” of the French language (Explications, 2000).
