La méthodologie adoptée repose sur trois outils d’investigation à savoir, le questionnaire, l’analyse de contenu du compte rendu d’un article de vulgarisation scientifique choisi comme support de travail, et l’analyse de contenu du tableau récapitulatif du même texte-support. 
 Nos instruments d’investigation ont permis de déceler une amélioration des acquis intégrés, mais celle-ci ne touche pas toutes les habiletés. L’étude a démontré notamment que nos options méthodologiques se sont révélées insuffisantes, car la finalité ne saurait se réduire à l’acquisition de compétences méthodologiques ou de savoir-faire, mais doit viser également la maîtrise du système proprement linguistique.
