Dans Mes mauvaises pensées (2005), Bouraoui explique que nous avons tous “une place à occuper” et “un rôle à jouer” dans la constellation familiale, affirmant que, dans sa famille, elle est le sujet “buvard”, celle qui s’imprègne de tout et des autres, et dont la peau porte la mémoire. L’image de la peau buvard employée par Bouraoui - peau palimpseste où se brouillent les frontières entre vie et mort, présent et passé, le soi et l’Autre - illustre bien le genre de subjectivité à l’œuvre dans Mes mauvaises pensées que le présent article propose d’explorer.Il s’agira d’abord de montrer comment l’auteure-narratrice de Mes mauvaises pensées, en tant que sujet buvard, a pour tâche de relayer l’histoire des membres de sa famille ainsi que celle de ses deux pays d’origine, la France et l’Algérie, puis, de voir l’influence de cette conception de la subjectivité sur l’organisation narrative du texte.
