Este artigo apresenta experiência de uma equipe executora do Projeto Observatório da Educação com foco em Matemática e Iniciação às Ciências - OBEDUC. As ações aqui apresentadas constituem-se uma parcela e desdobramento do projeto em rede que envolve as Universidades: Universidade Estadual Paulista - UNESP de Ilha Solteira, Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso - UFMT em Cuiabá e Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso - UNEMAT em Barra do Bugres. Trataremos das origens do Projeto, a organização da equipe do Pólos para coordenação das ações e dos desdobramentos das mesmas para contemplar os eixos que foram assumidos pela equipe: a Avaliação em Larga Escala, Formação de Professores, Formação de Grupos de Estudos, e Questões sociocientíficas.
