Les références aux gestes et aux corps ne paraissent pas essentielles dans les travaux des fondateurs de la tradition historico-culturelle. Pourtant, Vygotski, Léontiev et Luria ont contribué à développer des axes théoriques que nous avons souhaités reprendre. En nous appuyant sur ces travaux, dont certains font référence à des physiologistes russes — Anokhin et Bernstein — nous proposons de présenter un modèle d’analyse psychologique du développement du geste. Le travail d’opératrices d’une blanchisserie industrielle et les autoconfrontations croisées auxquelles elles ont participé, nous permettent de distinguer, au sein d’une même unité psycho-socio-physiologique, le geste, les automatismes et le mouvement. Nous montrons alors comment l’analyse psychologique en clinique de l’activité peut contribuer à la prévention durable des TMS. Plus exactement, nous présentons trois axes pour l’intervention. Nous pensons qu’un travail d’analyse, à partir de la structure psychologique du geste, permet de i) provoquer des controverses ciblées sur les rapports entre ces trois plans ; ii) développer l’expérience gestuelle des professionnels par la multiplication des contextes ; et enfin, iii) soutenir le pouvoir d’agir des professionnels.
