Abstract
Dans le contexte de l’économie du savoir, il semblerait que la qualité de vie soit un critère fondamental pour attirer la main-d’œuvre la plus qualifiée et les entreprises de haute technologie. R.Florida prétend même que les résidents de ces villes seraient tolérants envers les minorités ethniques et les homosexuels. Mais qu’en est-il vraiment? Les talents sont-ils sensibles à la qualité de vie urbaine? Les villes de l’économie du savoir sont-elles nécessairement celles ayant la meilleure qualité de vie? Dans le cadre de nos recherches, nous souhaitons démontrer que les villes du savoir en Amérique du Nord ne sont pas nécessairement celles ayant la meilleure qualité de vie. D’autant plus que la qualité de vie est un concept on ne peut plus subjectif, sans compter que les talents n’ont pas tous les mêmes aspirations professionnels et personnels.
