Abstract
Tato diplomová práce popisuje historii farnosti Hořičky v 19. století z hlediska historické demografie. Farnost se nachází v severovýchodních Čechách, nedaleko České Skalice. V 19. století se skládala ze 14 obcí. Hlavním zdrojem obživy místních obyvatel bylo zemědělství, z řemesel zde bylo nejrozšířenější tkalcovství. Veškeré údaje byly získány anonymní excerpcí z matrik narozených, oddaných a zemřelých. Zjištěné výsledky byly porovnány se situací v českých zemích a se situací v nedaleké farnosti Lochenice. Práce se zabývá otázkou sňatečnosti (věkovými rozdíly mezi snoubenci, jejich rodinným stavem, sociálním původem apod.), natality (sezónním pohybem, nemanželskými dětmi) a mortality (průměrným věkem zemřelých, příčinami úmrtí nebo dětskou úmrtností).
