Abstract
Depuis le milieu du V e s. av. J.-C., philosophes, rhéteurs et praticiens des rituels ont tenté d’expliquer le lien entre l’âme et le corps. D’abord, le sophiste Gorgias (Éloge d’Hélène) illustrait ce lien dans le contexte d’un procès impliquant l’âme, laquelle avait été marquée par des forces extérieures. Puis Platon ( Gorgias, La République ) élargissait le débat en explorant, au cours du jugement après la mort, les conséquences qu’entraînaient ces marques sur l’âme et sur le corps. Enfin, les lamelles ‘orphiques’ présentent un cas dans lequel les initiés portent avec eux des somata marqués qui facilitent le passage de l’âme dans l’Au-delà.
