Lydie M OUDILENO revient sur l’ensemble de l’œuvre de Maryse Condé en mettant en relief certains des traits thématiques et formels qui la parcourent. Ainsi des exemples tirés des tous premiers textes ( Hérémakhonon , Ségou , ou Une saison à Rihata ) autant que des œuvres les plus récentes ( L’Histoire de la femme cannibale , Les Belles ténébreuses , Victoire, les saveurs et les mots ) illustrent la récurrence des problématiques liées à la famille, à l’origine, à l’exil ou à la rébellion. Moudileno nous invite à relire les textes de Condé à la lumière de ces questions, en insistant sur la position insolente, voire iconoclaste de l’auteur par rapport à sa propre pratique, et d’un genre à l’autre, de l’écriture autobiographique au roman fantastique.
