Abstract
Cette étude s’intéresse aux déterminants de la rémunération des présidents non exécutifs des sociétés du SBF 120, et étudie en particulier dans quelle mesure les caractéristiques de capital humain des présidents affectent leur niveau de rémunération. A partir d’un échantillon de 203 observations sur la période 2005-2011, nous montrons que la qualification, signalée par le diplôme, permet une surreprésentation des lauréats d’écoles prestigieuses aux fonctions de présidents sans impliquer un niveau de rémunération supérieure. En revanche, c’est la compétence liée à l’expérience - appréhendée notamment par le passage à un poste de dirigeant exécutif - qui influence leur niveau de rémunération.
