Abstract
This catalogue captures the first exhibition entirely devoted to Web art held in a Quebec museum. Using the ellipse as a symbol of the artworks’ interactivity, curator and author Lamontagne qualifies the Web as “the ultimate postmodern medium”. The author describes how the six artists, whose works were commissioned by the museum, reinterpret and broaden strategies borrowed from other art practices such as painting, kinetic art, animation and photography.
