Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Modulational instability of high frequency surface waves on a plasma half-space is investigated taking into account finite temperature effects. The second harmonic generated through nonlinear self-interaction of the waves is found to carry a fraction of the surface wave energy into the bulk of the plasma. This is found to influence the modulational instability mechanism. To describe the nonlinear evolution of the wave, a nonlinear Schrödinger equation is derived in which the coefficient of the nonlinear term becomes a complex quantity. From this evolution equation we derive the condition of instability and show that high-frequency surface waves on a warm plasma half-space are modulationally unstable.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
