Abstract
L’article relate comment les Gitans catalans sont à même de développer des initiatives en matière de santé. Alors même que les services médico-sociaux signalent unanimement leur grande difficulté à gérer leurs missions auprès de ces populations et que les comportements collectifs tsiganes en matière de consultation et de suivi médical sont désignés comme anarchiques, ignorants de l’organisation territorialisée des institutions de santé, alors même que le sida, lié à de fortes consommations d’héroïne injectée, décimerait des clans gitans. La cartographie des déplacements pour soins suggère que, si les traditionnels nomadismes ont disparu, de vastes réseaux territoriaux transfrontaliers sont toujours activés et permettent des mobilisations inconnues parmi les autres populations.
