Abstract
A Geopolitica anda junto com as ideologias de seus formuladores e de cada epoca, e para complicar ainda mais sua situacao, confunde-se com as proprias formulacoes estrategicas dos Estados. Nao obstante, a visao de mundo Ocidental se ampara nas concepcoes geopoliticas formuladas no interior de suas potencias atlantistas hegemonicas. Ali, por formar parte do conjunto das ideias dominantes, o pensamento geopolitico, pode entao parecer liberto dos estigmas que o associam ao totalitarismo e militarismo, que e o que se sucede quando o pensamento geopolitico e produzido fora do eixo do Atlântico Norte, especialmente em Estados politicamente valiosos ou regimes de governo hostis aos interesses atlantistas.
