Abstract
Faisant appel au film culte Cosmos (1996), Simon Harel étudie les figures montréalaises de la mobilité géographique et culturelle. À ce sujet, le taxi représente, dans Cosmos, un espace identitaire, capteur de mobilité, traceur de parcours autant réels qu’imaginaires et figure emblématique de la ville. Cette analyse permet une réflexion sur les récits de soi et d’espace du sujet en mouvement. Aux yeux de Simon Harel, le chauffeur de taxi est un véritable « homme-récit » (pour reprendre l’expression de Tzvetan Todorov) ayant une fonction d’interprète de la parole des autres, de l’actualité de la vie urbaine et de la tradition orale.
