Abstract
Vía Campesina vislumbra un mundo rural más humano, basado en el redescubrimiento de una ética del desarrollo que dimana de la cultura productiva y la vocación productiva de las familias del campo. La agricultura es impulsada por los labriegos, se basa en la producción campesina, utiliza recursos locales y se orienta al mercado interno. Su objetivo primordial es construir modelos alternativos de agricultura y enfoca su actuación en la soberanía alimentaria y el comercio agrícola, la reforma agraria, los derechos de los trabajadores migratorios y los jornaleros agrícolas; el género, la biodiversidad y los recursos genéticos, los derechos humanos y los derechos de los campesinos, así como una agricultura sustentable basada en el productor.
