Alors qu'il constitue aussi une aire de protection de l'environnement, le littoral nord de Bahia (Brésil) connaît un essor touristique rapide qui bouscule le cadre de vie traditionnel. L'article étudie l'action des acteurs dans la triple perspective du développement durable : l'économie, l'environnement, le développement social. Le tourisme, dont le complexe de Costa do Sauipe est l'élément majeur, a un impact fort sur l'économie locale et entraîne de fortes inégalités socio-spatiales.
