Abstract
O presente estudo consistiu na caracterização da dor em lombadores de um frigorífico bovino no Estado do Mato Grosso. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi caracterizar a dor dos funcionários lombadores por meio da utilização da versão brasileira do “Questionário de dor McGill” (BR-MPQ). A dor é o principal sintoma de muitas doenças e prejudica substancialmente a qualidade de vida das pessoas por ela acometidas. Sua causa pode estar associada ao trabalho de várias categorias profissionais. Dentre elas, este trabalho destacou os lombadores, considerados uma categoria profissional que realiza atividade pesada. Os resultados obtidos foram extraídos da análise do questionário e mostram que esses profissionais apresentaram um baixo índice de dor e a característica sensitiva da dor foi mais evidente. Concluiu-se que os profissionais que participaram deste estudo não veem esse trabalho pesado como uma grande preocupação, como uma ameaça à sua integridade física, mental, social e ocupacional.
