Abstract
Economic Development professionals are challenged every day to do more with less and justify each activity and expenditure. Partnerships become vital to leverage assets and efficiencies and, as a result, reach greater strategic objectives. The need to address identified issues in the community and find strategic partners to meet those needs can pave the road for economic development one business at a time.This environment for opportunity opened the door to attempt a satellite office project between a Community Futures Office, an upper tier municipality and a private company. Through partnership and innovation, entrepreneurs in Elgin County now receive improved access to support and counselling for starting a business and creating jobs.
