Abstract
Cette analyse s’inscrit dans une recherche qualitative plus large sur les liens possible entre le décrochage scolaire et social chez des jeunes en difficultés de comportement. De l’échantillon initial, sélectionné dans deux écoles pour jeunes en difficultés de la Commission scolaire de Montréal, deux sous-groupes sont formés de jeunes cumulant des problématiques sévères et variées ou de jeunes dont les problèmes sont moins importants. À la lumière de leur trajectoire scolaire et familiale, l’analyse s’intéresse aux rêves vocationnels formulés par ces jeunes. Les résultats suggèrent que ceux dont les problèmes sont moins sévères sont capables de formuler des aspirations vocationnelles réalistes et stables, reflétant leurs intérêts profonds, de planifier et d’actualiser des démarches en conséquence. Par contre, pour les jeunes présentant des problèmes plus sévères, un processus de décrochage social semble déjà amorcé, parfois depuis l’enfance, qui complexifie l’identification d’un rêve vocationnel réaliste, non marginal et stable.
