Abstract
Le Mois de la Photo à Montréal nous est apparu un cas de figure pertinent pour analyser l’extension géographique des relations de la scène artistique du Québec avec le monde de l’art contemporain et, également, pour mettre au jour ces nouveaux réseaux de diffusion et de collaboration se déployant sur la scène mondiale, dans un espace autre que celui des métropoles artistiques. Cette stratégie de diffusion est en synchronie avec la transformation de l’espace international de l’art contemporain, qui, comme l’a relevé Raymonde Moulin, a connu une extension géographique du réseau institutionnel. Cet article analyse comment elle s’inscrit dans le phénomène de mondialisation des échanges et des collaborations culturelles, et évalue si elle a modifié les relations entre les métropoles artistiques et ce qu’on a appelé les centres périphériques.
