Dor crônica em um ambulatório universitário de fisioterapia

Abstract
Objetivo Estudar a prevalencia de dor cronica no ambulatorio universitario de fisioterapia da Universidade Estadual Paulista de Presidente Prudente, retratando aspectos multidimensionais da dor por meio do questionario de dor McGill adaptado para a lingua portuguesa. Metodos Foram entrevistados 200 pacientes por questionario padronizado. As informacoes foram coletadas e transpostas ao formulario eletronico Excel e analisadas. Resultados A prevalencia de dor cronica esteve presente em 48,0% do total das pessoas avaliadas (n=96), sendo 67,7% mulheres. A faixa etaria mais frequente foi de 61 a 70 anos de idade, sendo a maioria de pessoas aposentadas (42,7%) e casadas (54,2%). A causa mais comum foi a artrose (33,3%). As mulheres tiveram mais dor (OR=2,86; IC=1,60-5,10), assim como os individuos de nivel de escolaridade mais baixo. Conclusao As dores cronicas estiveram presentes em quase metade dos pacientes da clinica, mas nem sempre foram referidas, pois se deu prioridade as queixas agudas. As especialidades nas quais mais se apresentaram foi na ortopedia devido a artrose e outras doencas do sistema musculoesqueletico. A pesquisa da dor cronica deve ser atenta e dirigida nos servicos para que uma terapeutica mais integral seja instituida. Termos de indexacao : dor; epidemiologia; fisioterapia (especialidade).
