Abstract
Résumé Diverses formes de sociologie historique étaient bien établies en Allemagne avant 1933, mais pas aux Etats-Unis. De nombreux sociologues historiens allemands furent contraints à l’exil par le nazisme, en particulier aux Etats-Unis, mais leur orientation vers l’histoire n’eut guère d’écho immédiat dans ce pays. La sociologie historique y devint un sous-champ disciplinaire solidement institutionnalisé à partir des années 1970, mais elle ne réapparut jamais dans l’Allemagne d’après-guerre.
