La construction identitaire des jeunes francophones en situation minoritaire au Canada : négociation des frontières linguistiques au fil du parcours universitaire et de la mobilité géographique

Abstract
Cet article porte sur le processus de construction identitaire des étudiants universitaires francophones canadiens évoluant en contexte minoritaire et qui ont été scolarisés en français au secondaire. L'angle d'approche est constructiviste, centré sur le rapport des jeunes face aux différentes catégories identitaires existantes. L'analyse des parcours identitaires vécus au fil des études universitaires permet de constater que la majorité des jeunes interviewés (64 sur 76) s'inspirent principalement des catégories opposant les Francophones minoritaires à deux majorités : les Francophones québécois et les Anglophones canadiens. Seuls 12 répondants adoptent une vision plurielle de l'identité, une vision qui remet en question les frontières dichotomiques entre ces groupes. La majorité des récits identitaires analysés laissent transparaître une communalisation autour du sentiment de former une minorité francophone. Ces résultats de recherche sur les jeunes adultes remettent en perspective les recherches antérieures qui ont souligné les identités bilingues des adolescents évoluant en contexte minoritaire francophone.
