Abstract
Cet article compare les relations avec l'école de parents d'élèves de l'école élémentaire, telles qu'elles se dégagent de séances de travail réunissant deux groupes contrastés, l'un composé de familles populaires, l'autre de familles des classes moyennes. Sur les trois registres choisis, les demandes de socialisation, d'éducation et d'utilité sociale, les deux groupes ont des attentes et des attitudes contrastées, montrant que les rapports des familles à l'école sont dominés par des tensions internes et ne se réduisent pas aux seuls effets de la distance culturelle.
