Abstract
The author discusses how an International Railroad Journal comment by David Briginshaw inspired an American organization to be set up to promote and lobby for intermodal freight and rail transportation in Mexico, Canada, and the United States. Tentatively titled Future Mobility North America, the group has four main goals: promotion of green intermodal transportation projects; explanation of the efficiency and effectiveness of intermodal transportation over conventional forms of passenger transportation and shipping; communication of the North American intermodal freight's success story; and education of the media, business community, investors, and policy makers about rail technology and intermodal freight emergence. Various Future Mobility North America projects and members are discussed.
