Abstract
La consommation et le rangement des médicaments par les patients dans l’espace domestique témoignent d’une relation à soi, à son corps et à l’Autre. À travers l’étude des pratiques individuelles et familiales relatives à la consommation médicamenteuse et à la disposition des médicaments dans l’espace domestique, observées dans des familles d’origines catholique et protestante, cet article montre que ces pratiques ne sont pas le résultat d’un choix personnel. Elles sont socialement construites, et cette construction diffère selon l’appartenance culturelle des patients. En outre, l’auteur tente de découvrir les logiques symboliques qui sous-tendent ces pratiques et met au jour les oppositions structurelles privé-public et individuel-collectif autour desquelles elles s’organisent.
