Abstract
In August 2003, an unusually \ndark blue beryl was discovered in Canada's Yukon \nTerritory by Bill Wengzynowski (Archer Cathro & \nAssociates, Vancouver, British Columbia; figure 11) and \none of these contributors (LAG). Mr. Wengzynowski also is \ncredited with the 1998 discovery of the Regal Ridge emerald \ndeposit in the Yukon Territory, which is ~ 100 km east-southeast \nof the blue beryl occurrence. These efforts were \nfinanced by True North Gems Inc. of Vancouver. The new \ngem is noteworthy for its dark blue color and strong dichroism, \nand is being referred to as "True Blue" beryl.
