Abstract
We consider group-subgroup pairs in which the group is a semidirect product and the subgroup is contained in the normal part. We give conditions for the pair to be a Hecke pair and we show that the enveloping Hecke algebra and Hecke <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" alttext="upper C Superscript asterisk"> <mml:semantics> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>C</mml:mi> <mml:mo> ∗ </mml:mo> </mml:msup> <mml:annotation encoding="application/x-tex">C^*</mml:annotation> </mml:semantics> </mml:math> </inline-formula> -algebra are canonically isomorphic to semigroup crossed products, generalizing earlier results of Arledge, Laca and Raeburn and of Brenken.
