Abstract
La tempête Xynthia qui a frappé la côte charentaise (France) en 2010 avec une submersion importante ne devrait-elle pas être considérée comme un signal « faible » de ce que pourrait être ce littoral en 2100 ? Sur les zones dites « de solidarité », la désurbanisation a laissé place à un changement d’aménités où le littoral n’est plus habité mais renaturé au bénéfice du plus grand nombre. A plus grande échelle, il s'agit maintenant d'adapter ce littoral très spécifique aux conséquences prévisibles des effets du changement climatique. Un scénario prospectif montre comment l'appréciation du système littoral – rétrolittoral de l’arrière pays permet d'envisager une adaptation urbaine durable aux enjeux croisés du changement climatique.
